For years, James Mack has been one of those familiar faces woven into the fabric of Wilton Manors through sports, fundraising, nightlife, local business, and civic involvement. Whether on the softball field, organizing charity events, supporting local businesses, or connecting people across different sectors of the city, James has built a reputation as someone who genuinely shows up.
Many in Wilton Manors know James through the local softball scene, where he spent well over a decade playing, coaching, organizing teams, and mentoring new players. He also helped drive league growth through partnerships with local businesses. From teams connected to Scandals, Sidelines, and Gym Bar to his longtime relationships with sponsors across Wilton Drive, his involvement has always centered on bringing people together.
That same community spirit extends to philanthropy. James co-created the “Ring-a-ling-Ding – Dong Toy Drive and Pub” crawl, turning a fun night on the Drive into meaningful support for children and families in need during the holidays. Long before themed pub crawls became common, this event united local businesses, nightlife, and charitable giving in a way that reflected the unique personality of Wilton Manors.
Beyond fundraising and sports, James has remained active in the local business and nonprofit sectors through networking, chamber involvement, and civic events—including serving as the MC for the city’s holiday tree lighting ceremony.
Today, James continues to support the community as the owner of the Fort Lauderdale franchise of Journey Payroll & HR and through his role on the board of the GFLGLCC. Through Journey Payroll & HR, he supports local business owners by simplifying and streamlining payroll and HR operations, allowing them to spend more time growing their businesses and supporting their teams.
What has remained consistent throughout the years is James’ ability to bring people, businesses, and the Wilton Manors community together.
