If you’ve spent any time on Wilton Drive, chances are you’ve admired Claudia Castillo’s work without even realizing it. From the colorful hand-painted parking meters that brighten the sidewalks to the Rainbow Manatee in Justin Flippen Park and the iconic Rainbow Bridge, her artwork has quietly become part of the Wilton Manors experience. These aren’t just works of art. They’ve become part of the personality of our community.
Claudia believes art shouldn’t be confined to gallery walls. It should live where people gather, spark conversations between strangers, celebrate diversity, and create a stronger sense of belonging. That philosophy has shaped not only her artwork, but also the role she continues to play throughout Wilton Manors.
Located in the heart of the city, Claudia Castillo ART Studio is more than an art gallery. It’s a place where people can slow down, discover something unexpected, and connect through creativity. Alongside Claudia’s original work, the gallery showcases a rotating collection of artwork from local, national, and international artists, making every visit a chance to experience something new.
Step inside and you’ll quickly discover there’s much more to explore than you might expect. Beautiful creations fill every corner of the gallery, from handcrafted jewelry and sculptures to custom framing, unique gifts, and one-of-a-kind treasures, making it just as easy to find a meaningful keepsake as it is to discover your next favorite piece of art. Whether you’re an experienced collector or simply browsing, there’s something for every style and budget. Throughout the summer, visitors can also explore Claudia’s newest collection, with fresh exhibitions and new artwork making every visit a little different from the last.
The gallery is also one of the highlights of the monthly Wilton Drive Art Walk. On Art Walk evenings, neighbors, visitors, and art lovers gather to meet artists, explore new collections, and experience the creative energy that makes Wilton Manors unlike anywhere else.
Claudia’s commitment to Wilton Manors reaches far beyond her studio. She serves on the Broward Cultural Council, helping strengthen arts and cultural initiatives throughout the county, and on the board of the Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce, where she supports small businesses and community partnerships. She also co-founded the annual Justin Flippen Manatee Contest, inspiring hundreds of local elementary students while providing thousands of dollars in art supplies and prizes each year.
For Claudia, creating beautiful artwork is only part of the story. Bringing people together through creativity, supporting fellow artists, and making art part of everyday life is what truly inspires her. It’s one more reason her work has become such an important part of the character and culture of Wilton Manors.
