From Involved to Invested

Give Ed Vincent a little time with an organization and there’s a pretty good chance he’ll end up helping run it. 

It’s a pattern that has followed Ed through much of his life in Wilton Manors. He doesn’t just join. He gets invested, takes on responsibility, and looks for ways to make things better. 

A Wilton Manors resident for more than five years, Ed currently serves as President of the Central Area Neighborhood Association (CANA), where increasing community involvement has been one of his priorities. For Ed, a stronger neighborhood starts with more neighbors participating in it. 

You can see that same approach on the softball field. Since joining the South Florida Amateur Athletic Association in 2017, Ed has worn plenty of hats, playing, coaching, managing, serving on the board, and spending two years as league commissioner. 

Along the way, he helped bring back the Wednesday night Under the Lights softball league and founded the Silverhawks Legends D Team, which has won two World Series Championships and two 3^rd place trophies in the past eight years. 

And his competitive side doesn’t end with softball. Pride Sports cornhole has been part of the mix since its inaugural season in 2022, followed by pickleball when the league launched in 2025. 

That involvement reaches well beyond sports. Ed has been part of the Wilton Manors Business Association since 2018 and the Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce since 2021. His professional affiliations include the National Association of Realtors and Florida Realtors.
